Israel Strike on Rafah kills dozens of people including women and children. Israel confirmed that it targeted 2 Hamas leaders responsible for militant activities in West Bank and said it took measures to prevent loss of civilian lives and colateral damage. Israel Defence Forces said that it would conduct a full investigation into the loss of lives of the civilians. Israel faced critisisms globally over the strikes and United Nations court demanded Israel to stop its attack on Rafah where civilian lives are compromised.
A few hours earlier it was reported that rockets were fired toward Tel Aviv by Hamas from Rafah and it was a first long range attack since earlier this year.In response Israel fired and it claimed that it was successful in killing the two Hamas leader. However the civilian casualty was huge as women and children were killed in the attact. It was reported that atleast 30 people including women and children were killed in the bombings in the area.
The Israeli operations started in the Rafah area 3 weeks earlier targeting Hamas leaders and it is believed that atleast 800000 have fled that area beause of the operations . Palestine claimed that the bombings targeted a United Nations designated area , Tal Al Sultan, where there were refuge camps with women and children.
The attack resulted in Global outcry as Qatar and Egypt strongly condemned the attacks and military operations in Rafah.French President Emmanuel Macron strongly criticised that attack . US responded that it was aware of the attack and is gathering more information about the incident. Turkish president Erdogan strongly condemned and said that Israel is accountable for these barbaric attack on the civilians. United nations chief of foreign policy said that Israel must follow the orders of the International Court of Justic ruling to stop its attack on Rafah.
The social media was flooded with horrific and tragic videos showing dead bodies of children and women in the attack. It is believed that the bombings caused fire in the tent where women and children including refuges were taking shelter. Israel president Benjamin Netanyahu has been condemned with the ways he has been conducting the war and resulting in civilian casualties in Gaza.
Residents who arrived at the Kuwaiti hospital in Rafah claimed he saw buring bodies of women and children and it was hell on earth. Residents mentioned that it was tragic to see melting bodies of women and children .
Israel launched its military attack on Gaza after it was attacked by the Hamaz on October 7 where 1200 Israeli civilians were killed and around 250 people were taken hostage. Since then more than 36000 people were killed in Gaza and it is still uncertain how long this crisis will continue and how many more lives of innocent civilians will be lost.
