Trinidadian born wrapper and song writer Nicki Minaj was arrested at the Amsterdam Airport for allegedly carrying Drugs. The singer was later released after she was detained at the Cell for 6 hours. At a social media post Nicki thanked her fans for praying for her and mentioned that she was able to take her flight to Manchester. Nicki was travelling to Manchester for a concert and part of her world tour . Nicki was later released with a fine but she was not able to make it to the concert on time as 20000 fans waited at the Manchester Arena.The audience who waited for hours at the venue and travelled to watch the concert were left diasppointed. Nicki performed at Amsterdam after which she was scheduled to travel to Manchester for a concert at the Manchester arena.
Fans were let into the Manchester arena at 1900 BST but it was not unitil 21:30 that the postponement was announced and the fans were very livid as the announcement could have been made earlied and they did not have to wait with anticipation.
Nicki mentioned in her posts that people were trying to stop her tour and concert and she is expected to perform at Birmingham on Sunday after her Manchester concert. Nicki also mentioned that people were paid money to stop her tour and people at the airport were lying at her.Nicki is scheduled to perform at London and Glasgow later next week and also perform at the rescheduled concert at Manchester.
Nicki filmed part her arrest and posted it on the social media on Saturday where police mentioned that she was under arrest and she responded by saying that she was not carrying drugs.She also mentioned in her posts that her bag was taken at the airport without her consent and it was Amsterdam where weed was legal.
At Amsterdam it is against the law to carry drugs but generally it is not considered very seriously if one is carrying small amounts and there is a certain level of toleration for that same.
Later in her posts Nicki expressed her appology to her fans as she was not able to perform at the cooncert . The postponement date is yet to be announced but Nicki mentioned that the tickets will be valid for the fans at the rescheduled concert whose date will be later announced.
Nicki Minaj whose original name is Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty is a 41 year old rapper and singer and is ofter referred to as the Queen of Rap. She is based out of United States and her debut album Pink Friday (2010)was top of the US 200 billboard 200 chart.
